It has been a long time since I have written a blog here on my own personal blog site,

but I certainly could not help myself nor resist the great news that I saw not too terribly long ago that was posted on the Gulf Coast Wrestling.com website that professional wrestling will be returning....
ALBEIT FOR JUST ONLY ONE NIGHT(?),
to the Civic Center in Bayou La Batre,Alabama
on Friday night,September the 18th!!!
It has been a long,long time since a wrestling show has taken place in what I consider to be the hallowed halls of the Civic Center in Bayou La Batre,AL......
for myself it has been 2 YEARS TO BE EXACT AS A MATTER OF FACT (September 2nd,2007).
Despite the fact that in recent years I have transcended from being a rowdy,vociferous,enthusiastic wrestling fan at ringside into becoming a independent wrestling personality as a wrestling photo journalist/contributing writing journalist/YAHOO! wrestling group site owner/ring announcer/General Manager & business partner for Gulf Coast indy wrestling promotion Xtreme Impact Wrestling (XIW) in Pascagoula,MS;
in many ways and for so many years I considered the city of Bayou La Batre,AL....AND STILL DO TO THIS VERY DAY.....to be one of my 'homes away from home' when local wrestling came to town back in the day!
It is indeed such a great thrill for me that professional wrestling is returning back to a town that holds a very special place in my heart filled with such many wonderful,timeless,precious memories for me as a wrestling fan dating all the way back to 1998!!!
Bayou La Batre,AL is also a place where I have met and where I became very good,close friends with several,numerous Gulf Coast independent wrestlers,wrestling fans & wrestling personalities........
and OH YES!
HOW IN THE WORLD COULD I EVER FORGET ABOUT SOME OF THE BEVY OF BEAUTIFUL FEMALE DIVAS THAT GRACED DOWN THE AISLE EN ROUTE TO THE RINGSIDE AREA AT THE BAYOU THROUGH THE YEARS??!!??

IT WAS I WHO GAVE HER THAT APTLY NICKNAMED MONIKER BACK IN LATE 2005......
.....anyway,she will be making her return to wrestling for the 1st time in about 3 and 1/2 years as she will once again be managing the cantankerous and extremely boisterous wayward cousin of Percy Pringle III,
"Marvelous"
MARCEL PRINGLE
as he will be teaming with
"Brutal"
JOE GIBSON
as they will be taking on the immensely popular
father/son combination
of the legendary
"Bullet"
BOB ARMSTRONG
and former WWE/WCW superstar
STEVE ARMSTRONG.
For the past couple of decades or so,
"The Marvelous One" and "The Bullet" have been feuding with one another all over the Gulf Coast....
especially over in the Bayou La Batre Civic Center.
When you add the experience,the ring savvy and the intestinal fortitude of Steve Armstrong,
the sheer,straightforward tenacity and the relentless,unrepenting savage brutality of "Brutal" Joe Gibson;
plus not to mention the cheating,conniving,distractionable ways and means of Queen Melissa at ringside into the mix,
you have the makings of one explosive and one very intriguing,entertaining tag team encounter!
Also in the main event,
it will be former WWE superstar and Mobile,AL native
BOB "Hardcore" HOLLY
versus one of the top up and coming wrestling talents in the Gulf Coast independent wrestling circuit,
whom BTW has wrestled a couple of times on television on WWE SmackDown! in 2008 and in 2009 at the Coast Coliseum in Biloxi,MS.....
despite the fact it was in the role of a "jobber"-
I REMEMBER BECAUSE I WAS THERE IN THE AUDIENCE AT BOTH OF THOSE WWE EVENTS-
as well as on the short-lived MTV wrestling program

The last time that both Hardcore Holly and Luke Hawx were both in the ring simultaneously in the Gulf Coast area was at Percy Pringle III's Gulf South Wrestling show in Citronelle,AL back in the latter stages of 2005 (I believe).....
AND THIS WAS WHAT HAPPENED TO POOR LUKE.....

In MY opinion,this entire card from top to bottom looks to be one great night of wrestling action at the Bayou!
There are millions upon millions of cherished,fond memories that I have through the hundreds of wrestling shows that I have gone to the Bayou throughout over the last decade which are too countless for me to mention to even place on this one entire blog.
However,a few moments that I wanted to reminisce about was a main event 6 man tag team steel cage match that I saw when Unified Championship Wrestling (UCW) had a Christmas show back in December of 1999 when "Mr. Action" Steve Southern;
now currently known as "Mr. 450" Steve Anthony,
did an amazing,breathtaking,death defying flying body press.....
FROM THE VERY TOP OF THE STEEL CAGE.....
to score the 1-2-3 pinfall for his team that consisted of Tony "The XTinguisher" Sweatt and "The Human Highlight Reel" Chad Cheetum.
Another fond memory that I had was checking out a wrestling show in the Bayou back in May of 2005;
the very first wrestling show that I went to just a month after when I had a very successful kidney and pancreas transplant!
It was also the first.....AND THE VERY LAST TIME
that my beloved mother Gladys will ever go to a wrestling show again.....LOL!
During that time,I was recuperating slowly but surely from my successful double organ transplant surgery
and my doctors did not AND would not allow me to drive,
but I wanted to get back into my realm of 'normalcy' if you will;
getting back to doing the things that I love to do.....
and going to and watching a live wrestling event was one of those things,
so therefore my Mom had to drive me to the Bayou.....
AND I WAS GOING TO GO TO THAT WRESTLING SHOW IN BAYOU LA BATRE ONE WAY OR THE OTHER COME HELL OR HIGH WATER!!!
I guess that some of the wild and crazy action that happened right in the front of the both of us when the action went outside the ring was just WAY too much for her to handle.....LOL!
In closing,I would like to say once again that it is so great to have wrestling return back to Bayou La Batre,AL.
I am so thrilled and I am so extremely happy about it...
especially knowing the fact that I will possibly be reunited in seeing some good ol' friends of mine once again!
Furthermore,I hope and I pray that professional wrestling in the Bayou will continue to be one happening trend.
I sincerely hope that all of you great wrestling fans along the nearby Gulf Coast area will make your plans to be there at the Civic Center in Bayou La Batre,AL on Friday night,September the 18th.....
