INDY DIVA profile on DIXIE (Part Three:The IWC Years,Volume One)!

HELLO WEBHEADS !

Welcome to another installment of my INDY DIVA profile on "The Sexy Southern Belle" DIXIE!

We are now getting into a pivotal point in Dixie's wrestling career as I am going to chronicle her time at the Independent Wrestling Council (IWC).
This will be a two parter to this one.
Therefore, with that being said, let's get right to it!

Back in the early summer of 2003,a brand new Gulf Coast wrestling organization was formed named the Independent Wrestling Council.
They had shows every Tuesday night at a machine shop over in Tillman's Corner in Theodore,AL;even having some holiday shows on Christmas.
This wrestling organization consisted of wrestling talent that defected from Sun Coast Championship Wrestling (later renamed the Alabama Wrestling Federation) in order to create their own brand new promotion.

Remember the Monday Night wrestling wars on telelvision from 1994 until the early spring of 2001 between WCW Monday Nitro and WWF RAW ?
Well, there was a Tuesday Night war that was taking place on the Gulf Coast
between the IWC and the AWF,whom had their shows every Tuesday night at a local bar called Club Casino in downtown Mobile,AL.

Anyway,as I mentioned in the previous blog,Dixie was a part of the IWC and she was wrestling there and,at the same time, she was managing Booger Brown (whom by the way both are pictured to the right).

These two were known as the Bonnie and Clyde of the IWC.

Dixie was the IWC Women's Champion and held that belt on several occasions while she managed Booger to winning mutliple times as the reigning and defending IWC Heavyweight Champion.

No matter which one of these two wrestled,no matter who they wrestled against or which one was outside the ring seconding the other, most of the majority of the time, the results were basically the same.
Booger and Dixie broke almost every rule in the book to gain any and every unnecessary advantage to win their matches while the person who was seconding the other outside the ring helped the other by interfering during the other's match,as was illustrated in this photograph on the right when Dixie interfered in one of Booger's IWC title matches when she hit indy wrestler Chief Iron Claw upside his head with her own IWC Women's title belt!

It seemed at this point in her career that Dixie was on Cloud 9;on top of the world if you will. She was the IWC Women's Champion and she managed the IWC Heavyweight Chanmpion Booger Brown.

Also,it seemed that NOTHING could ever possibly go wrong with Dixie, unfortunately however until one fateful Tuesday night at an IWC show.....

One night,Booger Brown lost his IWC Heavyweight Championship.
He blamed Dixie for his loss.
Dixie pleaded trying to reason with him saying that she had nothing to do with his title loss, but Booger didn't even wanted to hear one word that she said.

Then,the unthinkable happened.

Inexplicably Booger turned on Dixie.
He grabbed her by her hair, picked her up putting her on his shoulders and hit Dixie with his finishing maneuver called "The Booger Picker".
"The Booger Picker" is a move when Booger put his adversary up on his shoulders, spins his adversary around and then releasing and dropping that opponent face first into the ring canvas;which eventually that was the same thing that happened to Dixie.

Dixie was in very serious pain at this moment as she was favoring her neck.
Somebody ran into the ring, picked her up and took her back to the dressing room.
It was none other than one of her original trainers, wrestler Mercury McCloud.
She took her back to the dressing room to tend to one of his prized pupils.
After her neck being in pain and being out of action for about a few weeks,Dixie recovered and triumphantly returned back to the IWC.

Originally,Mercury wrestled in singles competition at the IWC.Then shortly afterwards,he was in a tag team along with "Crazy" Joe Fargo.
With Dixie by their side, who had a change of heart after her split with Booger Brown, she managed this tag team that later named themselves Trailer Fabulous.
Dixie led this very popular and dominant tag team to multiple time title reigns as IWC Tag Team Champions!

Dixie was also heavily involved in a very competitive rivalry feud with her arch rival by the name of Zip (tied up in an armbar by Dixie in the picture on the right).
From one week to the next,
you really didn't know what was going to happen to one another;nor could you tell who was going to win because ALL of their matches between these two ladies were very fiercely fought, fiercely competitive and hotly contested.

IN MY OWN PERSONAL OPINION from my very own perspective watching several of these one-on-one encounters between Dixie and Zip,not only was the Dixie/Zip feud one of the longest running feuds on the Gulf Coast independent wrestling circuit, but this feud in particular brought out the very best in both of these very young, very beautiful and very talented female wrestlers.

Both Zip and Dixie wrestled against each other in numerous matches for the IWC Women's Championship.
Back then, that IWC Women's title changed hands back and forth more times than the members of President's George W. Bush's Cabinet!

They also wrestled against each other
in mixed tag team matches, hardcore matches (like the one in the picture displayed on the right) and even a Paddle On A Pole match where the winner had to climb on the turnbuckle to reach the paddle to win, then give her opponent about 10 lashes in the derriere with that wooden paddle.
Also, may I add, those lashes were extremely painful;so painful that the losing comabatant in this specialty stipulated type match had to literally sleep standing up.

Aside from winning the IWC Women's Championship on numerous occasions, there were two very significant crowning moments in Dixie's career:
(1)The first one happened during an IWC Tag Team Championship match.
There was an anti-American team known as the Jihad Warriors who were at the time the IWC Tag Team Champions and one of Trailer Fabulous' most fiercest and most hated rivals.
"Crazy" Joe Fargo was suspended from the IWC and the manager of the Jihad Warriors demanded for Dixie to be Mercury McCloud's tag team partner as a substitute.
Mercury wrestled most of the majoity of the match, taking the brunt the of the pummelling and onslaught for his team.
Then, there was a point where Dixie reached in and tagged Mercury while he was down and came in to compete.
The Jihads were licking their chops thinking they had it easy when Dixie was in there, believing she was ripe for the picking.

HOW WRONG THEY WERE !

One of the Jihads Irish Whipped Dixie into the ropes attempting to do a sidewalk slam on her,but Dixie reversed it and finished him off with her finishing move called "The Climax".
Dixie covered the Jihad Warrior and hooked his leg for the 1-2-3 victory!

For at least one night,Dixie and Mercury McCloud were the IWC Tag Team Champions!

(2)Another crowning moment for Dixie was when she wrestled one-on-one against then the IWC Heavyweight Champion,Eckmo Fatu!
In the last couple of years,Eckmo Fatu has had a couple of stints wrestling for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).
Along with his cousin,Rosey,he was known as Jamal,1/2 of the tag team known as 3 Minute Warning.

He was released by the WWE in 2005,only to return and be re-signed by them earlier this year as the currently undefeated "Samoan Bulldozer" known as Umaga.

There is so much more to tell about Dixie and her days in the IWC.
I will discuss more about "The Sexy Southern Belle" Dixie in:

"The IWC Years,Volume Two"

UNTIL NEXT TIME,WEBHEADS !
