The MIAMI VICE movie was AWESOME!!!

I just got back from the movie theater on Sunday night,July 30th,to check out the movie "MIAMI VICE".I gotta tell you, that movie blew me away just as much as the characters that were getting their heads blown off during the movie! In a weird and bizarre way,the Miami Vice movie was like the UHPW "Hardcore Showdown" wrestling show that I saw over in Mossy Head,FL the night before. It had plenty of intense action, lots of blood and a plethora of gruesome violence.

The cocaine cowboys of the '80s are gone, but Miami's Casablanca allure, the undercover cops and the attitudes of Michael Mann's culturally influential television series have been enhanced by time in the feature film version of Miami Vice.

The movie Miami Vice,a very gritty dark action film,is a big screen adaption to the very popular TV series that ran for five successful seasons on the NBC network from 1984 to 1989;a show that I loved and watched religiously on Friday nights.Back then, the TV show was one of THE most innovative, unique and powerful TV series of all time. The movie
starred actor Colin Farrell and comedian, singer and Academy-Award winning actor Jamie Foxx(pictured on the right) as detectives Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs;roles that were played
by their TV series predecessors Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas (pictured below).

The movie was written, directed and co-produced by Michael Mann, who also directed the movies Collateral,Ali(based on the very funny, rugged, tough and talented 3 time former heavyweight boxing champion, the self-aggrandizing poet who really was "THE GREATEST",Muhammad Ali!) and was the creator and executive producer of the Miami Vice TV series back in the day.

I gotta give credit where credit is due right here.Jamie Foxx,in my honest opinion,is very talented and has certainly come a long way in his many years in the entertainment business..
He was a stand-up comedian who in the early 1990s starred on the hilarious TV comedy series In Living Color playing many zany characters, including the unforgettable character Wanda (pictured on the right).

In 1996,
he later starred
in his very own hit TV show, which is one of my personal all-time favorite TV shows,The Jamie Foxx Show (pictured right).

When his TV series ended in 2001 and even up to now,he literally has blown up all over TinselTown (Hollywood) starring and appearing in several movies, winning the Academy Award in 2005 for Best Actor portraying the late, great music icon,Ray Charles in the 2004 movie Ray (pictured right). Not to mention,he's a great singer. How can anybody in the world forget him singing co-lead vocals on the Kanye West mega-hit song "Golddigger"?He recently released his own album with his own material called "Unpredictable".I mean,THERE IS NO LIMIT TO THIS AMAZING MAN'S TALENTS!!!

In the movie,Ricardo Tubbs (Jamie Foxx) is urbane and dead smart. He lives with Bronx-born intel analyst Trudy (Naomie Harris),as they work undercover transporting drug loads into South Florida to identify a group responsible for three murders.

Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) is charismatic and flirtatious until, while undercover working with the supplier of the South Florida group, he gets romantically entangled with Isabella, the Chinese-Cuban wife of an arms and drugs trafficker.Isabella is played by the Chinese actress Gong Li.

The best undercover identity is oneself with the volume turned up and restraint unplugged. The intensity of this case pushes Crockett and Tubbs out onto the edge where identity and fabrication become blurred, where cop and player become one, especially for Crockett in his romance with Isabella and for Tubbs in the provocation of an assault on those he loves.

Miami Vice,as a large-scale feature film, liberates what is adult, dangerous and alluring about working deeply undercover...especially when Crockett and Tubbs go to where their badges don't count.

This was one of those movies that I had to go see for a number of reasons, both personal and nostalgic.Despite the very dark tone that was projected and portrayed in the movie, which was a very far cry from the TV series,it was very, very good.

Like I stated before,I watched Miami Vice when I was growing up as a teenager and that show set the tone for pop culture in the mid 1980s and the whole decade of the 1980s as far as I'm concerned. The clothes, music, colours, cars and interior was truly fantastic.During the 1980s,you had Pac-Man,Rubik's Cube and Miami Vice.ABSOLUTELY 1980S POP CULTURE!!!

The undercover cops Crockett (Don Johnson) and Tubbs (Philip Michael Thomas) opened our eyes to a whole new world of pastel colours and clothing brands. When the series became popular even huge masculine guys with chest-hair were allowed to wear “smashing” cloths. They even focused on the famous Art deco style buildings in Miami which gives it a complete style.
As a matter of fact, back in the day,I used to have and I used to wear one of those Miami Vice pastel-type sports jackets. The sports jacket was blue in color. If you had or even wore one of those Miami Vice-like sports jackets and could somehow, someway carry it off wearing it like Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas did;trust me,you were the shiznit on your block!

Even the music on that TV show was off the chain!I totally loved the music that was featured on Miami Vice! You had the classic, original TV theme instrumental by Jan Hammer. You had Glenn Frey with his songs "Smuggler's Blues" and my personal favorite "You Belong To The City".Last but not least, the unforgettable "In The Air Tonight" by Phil Collins.Prior before I left my house to see the movie,I was going through my mass of music CDs and cassettes and I found my cassette of the 1985 TV soundtrack to the TV series "Miami Vice".I remember getting this from my mother back in Christmas of 1985 as a Christmas present.Listening to that great music on the way to the movie took me back bringing so many great memories to me,also when I was watching the TV show.

It seems that the Miami Vice movie sunk The Pirates Of The Carribean:Dead Man's Chest off the top spot at the box office.During this past weekend,Miami Vice became the new #1 movie in the country taking in $25.2 million in total ticket sales.
In spite of the many mixed reviews the movie has received,I am so very happy for the movie's success. That within itself makes me feel very good knowing that a movie based on a TV show that I loved watching over 20 years ago is the #1 movie in the entire United States of America!

This movie is great, minus all the excessive and gruesome violence. The movie is rated R for violence, language and some sexual content.Personally, this is one movie I DO NOT want to take the kids to go see, believe me!
My advice to you is if you do not want to go and see the very graphic, gruesome violence that took place in this movie,I very strongly would advise for you not to go.However,on the other hand,if you were like me growing up watching the TV show during the adolescent teenage years back in the mid to late 1980s that is wanting to go see the movie as sort of a personal, nostalgic trip for yourself, then by all means, please do go!I highly recommend it!!!

INDY DIVAS OF THE GULF COAST

HELLO WEBHEADS!
As you probably know by now from a previous blog,I proudly own and run 5 wrestling related YAHOO! groups:
DESTINY'S DOMAIN
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/DestinysDomain

QUEEN MELISSA'S CASTLE
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/QueenMelissasCastle

MISS KIMBERLY'S PALACE
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/MissKimberlysPalace

SELINA THE SEDUCTRESS
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/Selina_The_Seductress

-and-
THE SEXY SAMANTHA SUITE
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/TheSexySamanthaSuite

I am also affiliated and I am a group moderator, which means that I am 2nd in command, with 2 other YAHOO! groups:
ZIP RULES
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/Zip_Rules

and,ONE OF THE HOTTEST WRESTLING RELATED GROUPS ON YAHOO!
Indy Divas
http://ca.groups.yahoo.com/group/indydivas/

At Indy Divas, which so happens to be run by my very good friend,Spartucus Jones, they feature and showcase all of the very beautiful, talented and hardworking female wrestlers,managers/valets and personalities from all across the independent wrestling circuit in the United States of America. In a way,I represent 7 ladies from the Gulf Coast indy wrestling circuit;Destiny,Dixie,Zip,Irresistible Danielle,Queen Melissa,Selina The Seductress and Sexy Samantha.Let me tell you something webheads,I am damn proud of all of theese ladies that I represent and they all appreciate everything that I've done for them!

When I became a group member at Indy Divas back in late November of 2005,I was using it as a springboard to recruit group members and to get my group Destiny's Domain off the ground.Eventually in time,it paid very huge dividends not only for Destiny's Domain, but also for Indy Divas as well. Thanks in part to me and the ladies that I brought forth to Indy Divas,as I stated earlier,Indy Divas is one of the hottest wrestling related groups on YAHOO!When I joined Indy Divas, they had only 6 members. As of the time when this blog was created, there are over 1,600 members worldwide!

Spartucus has said on many, many different occasions that Indy Divas would not be as successful as it is right now if it were not for me.Believe me,webheads,I'm not bragging about that. Also remember Dizzy Dean once said that if you've done it,then it ain't bragging.I guess I've already proven the point, now haven't I?

I remember not too terribly long ago some parent,or "pig" as Buttonman would like to refer to those that desecrate professional wrestling and certain individuals involved in professional wrestling on the various message boards on gulfcoastwrestling.com with their idiotic jibberish, posted a message on the Gulf Coast wrestling message board saying that he/she brings his/her young children to see the local indy wrestling shows on the Gulf Coast and claim that the women managers/valets that accompany their respective wrestlers to the ring
dress like street walkers or prostitutes.

While I respect this individual's opinion about this issue supposedly being a parent with young children,in my honest opinion, this individual probably lets the children watch WWE RAW on Monday nights and/or Friday Night SmackDown! on Friday nights where the WWE Divas wear very provocative clothing that some, but certainly not all,may say that the WWE Divas dress like they are strippers;almost to the point where they're literally "exposing" themselves.

Under no circumstances whatsoever am I knocking the WWE Divas and for what they wear nor am I knocking the WWE for that. The WWE Divas are extremely beautiful as well as the Gulf Coast Indy Divas that we have down here,no question about that.I was just making a comparison reference, that's all.

Therefore,my point is that this individual who made this post on GCW contradicted into a double standard as far as I am concerned.He/she talks about the local Gulf Coast Divas and their style of clothing on one hand and on the other hand lets his/her children watch WWE television programming with their racy, controversial storylines and other depictive visual things of that nature on a weekly basis and monthly on their pay-per-views.Go figure.

When the WWE Divas come out and compete in swimsuit competitions, wrestle in lingerie, evening gown/bra and panties matches or just plain out catfighting, maybe the individual that I was talking about may tell the kids to go back to their room or something. Then again, what do I know what parents let their children do nowadays?

Bottom line,if you don't like what you see in wrestling whether if it's on TV or live at a wrestling arena and if you feel uncomfortable or feel that what you see is inappropiate,DO NOT bring your children or let your children to watch the show and by all means,DO NOT YOURSELF WATCH IT!

Well, enough of my ranting and raving about this issue already.I'm about to go into Incredible Hulk mode.Let me calm down a little bit and let's back to the topic of my blog.

I represent 7 of the forementioned beautiful and talented ladies that I just mentioned and may I say once again I am very damn proud of them for what they have domwe in the wrestling business and what each of them all have achieved in the wrestling business.

At Indy Divas, these ladies not only have done quite well, but they are being recognized by the group members of Indy Divas and wrestling fans from all over the United States and all over the world! That makes me feel really good and oh so very proud in me saying that!

Since the beginning of the year,Indy Divas has been conducting monthly polls to determine the Indy Diva Of The Month where the votes of these ladies comes from the thousands of Indy Divas group members.I am very proud to say that 3 of our local Gulf Coast Indy Divas has won this prestigious honor:
Destiny won the March Indy Diva Of The Month
Irresistible Danielle (pictured below) won the April Indy Diva Of The Month

and Zip won the May Indy Diva Of The Month.

Right now at Indy Divas, they are conducting a poll to determine the July Indy Diva Of The Month. Two of our local Gulf Coast Indy Divas. They are Selina The Seductress

and "The Sexy Southern Belle",Dixie (pictured below)

As of the latest posting of this blog,Selina is in 1st place with 30 votes.
Dixie is in 3rd place with 10 votes.

If you would like to see one of our local ladies win, please join Indy Divas. After when you join:
(1)Click on the word Polls.
(2)Go to the question regarding the July Indy Diva Of The Month and
(3)Submit your vote for either Dixie or Selina by moving your mouse cursor and clicking on the little circle besdie either Selina or Dixie's name and then by clicking on the Vote button. It's just that easy and just that simple.

You have between now until 11:00 PM Central Standard Time
(BTW,that's our local time, webheads!) to cast your vote.
It is very important that you join Indy Divas and cast your vote for either Dixie or for Selina because we want one of these ladies to win!
Also, the top 5 runner-ups behind the winner will automatically qualify for the poll to determine the August Indy Diva Of The Month;which if the poll ended now,Dixie would qualify in this case.
With your help, webheads either Selina or Dixie can win.
EVERY VOTE COUNTS AND YOUR VOTE CAN AND WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

I want to wish both Dixie and Selina the very best of luck for the July Indy Diva Of The Month at Indy Divas.

Until next time,webheads.....

Thoughts & results of the AWF SEMMES SUMMERSLAM show (7-21-2006)

Greetings to you one and all!
WHAT A NIGHT AND WHAT A GREAT AWF SHOW!
I certainly had a great time as well as the 500+ fans that were there to pack the Semmes Conmmunity Center for AWF SEMMES SUMMERSLAM!THAT'S RIGHT!YOU HEARD ME AND YOU MOST DEFINITELY READ IT!The building was a total sell-out!The Semmes Community Center was so packed....
HOW PACKED WAS IT?

It was so packed, you couldn't fit another person in the building with a shoehorn! There wasn't a seat that wasn't filled and there wasn't a seat left to be taken. They had to put out more chairs just to seat everybody!Heck,I saw somebody walk in with a lawn chair just to be even seated. Therefore, what does that tell you?

Former WCW/nWo superstar and current AWF Heavyweight Champion Buff Bagwell was unable to be at the show in Semmes,AL due to some family problems that he had. However, his replacement most definitely made up for his absence.I'll tell you more about that later.

Since Buff was not there and as the show was about to begin,I cannot believe that Doink The Clown had the utter audacity to come out to Buff's theme music, wearing Buff's custom made tights and even posing and flexing his muslces like Buff....WHAT WAS DOINK THINKING MUCH LESS,WHAT WAS HE SMOKING?!!?

Anyway,Wade Garrett who was originally scheduled to face "The NightMare" Ted Allen in a weapons match, whom also didn't show up,came out with Doink and Dr. Love.As usual, these 3 were berating and cutting down all the AWF fans in Semmes."The War Machine" Chad Cheetum and Tony "The XTingusiher" Sweatt came out looking to get it on with Doink and Wade Garrett. However,Garrett went back to the locker room to get himself a partner....and what a tag partner did he get in the former co-holder of the WCW and WWF(E) Tag Team Championship and 1/2 of quite arguably one of the greatest tag teams that has ever lived in any era of professional wrestling.
From the legendary tag team,The Steiner Brothers,it was "THE DOG FACED GREMLIN" RICK STEINER (pictured to the right)!

What an unexpected surprise this was for myself and the AWF fans!Later in the evening,Steiner and Garrett were to face Chad Cheetum and Tony Sweatt in the main event.

Now,here are the results of AWF SEMMES SUMMERSLAM:

MATCH #1:
NEW AWF TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS WERE CROWNED as "The Notorious BSC" "BIG" Steve Cheetum and Randy Riggins defeated "The Leading Edge (Monty Warbucks and Calvin Rose).Warbucks and Rose pulled almost every dirty trick in the book to hold onto their tag team titles, but it was to no avail.BSC got hammered and pummeled by The Leading Edge during most of the match, but he somehow made the tag to Randy Riggins who came in like a house of fire to handle both members of the Leading Edge, scoring a pinfall for his team in a schoolboy roll-up for the 1-2-3 (10:07).
CONGRATULATIONS to Randy Riggins and "Big" Steve Cheetum for winning and becoming the new AWF Tag Team Champions!

MATCH #2:
BIG NASTY RETURNS TO THE AWF as he was led to ringside by Doink The Clown and Dr. Love as he took on Richtor Rhinehart and the Mountain Man in a 3 way dance.

Poor Richtor was being pummeled unmercifully by the larger and bigger Big Nasty, but he kept competitive and perseverd Big Nasty's onslaught.Nasty didn't really want absolutely no part of Mountain Man whatsoever, thus he was concentrating mostly throughout the match on Rhinehart.

Nasty pulled out a pair of brass knucks and hit Mountain Man upside his head with it.Mountain Man was startled and dazed by the blow, but he did not go down as he went outside the ring trying to regain his senses.Nasty left Rhinehart in the ring and battled Mountain Man outside. The two big behemoths battled back and forth with each other outside. The referee was counting both men out as Richtor Rhinehart was standing all by his lonesome in the ring winning the match (8:27).

I know that the very lovely and rthe very beautiful Commissioner and ring announcer Destiny said that Richtor Rhinehart won the match by a double disqualificatiion, but really it was more like a double countout.Sorry about that,Destiny and certainly no knock towards nor against you!

MATCH #3:
It was a 3 way cruiserweight match as,much to the surprise of the fans in the AWF audience through their raucous cheers,"Lil' Shooter" Kory Jackson returned to action in the AWF as he took on "Cowboy" Billy Wayne and the AWF Cruiserweight Champion,2 Quik.

Commissioner and ring annnouncer Destiny said before the match began that if 2 Quik won,he would still be AWF Crusierweight Champion. However if either "Cowboy" Billy Wayne or "Lil' Shooter" Kory Jackson won,one of those two men would be facing 2 Quik for the Cruiserweight Championship at next month's show.

All 3 of these men pulled out all the stops in this one as one tried to gain the upper hand on their opponents. It was non-stop,fast paced, high flying action from start to finish. In the end,Billy Wayne finished off 2 Quik as he defeated him with a corkscrew powerbomb and pinned him 1-2-3 (5:53).

At the end of the match, all 3 men raised their arms in unison and embraced each other in the middle of the ring in very good sportsmanship much to the adoration, applause and roars by the AWF crowd in a very outstanding match.

MATCH #4/SEMI MAIN EVENT:
General Payne took on the Rainbow Warrior. As the match started and progressed,General Payne just simply could not handle the unorthodox wrestling style of The Rainbow Warrior. He really didn't know what to do with him. But,he did battle back to take control of the match until the Rainbow Warrior took control as it was Rainbow being Rainbow.

The match ended as General Payne had some words with the referee. The Genreal shoved the referee and the referee shoved him right back, but unbeknowst to General Payne,The Rainbow Warrior was behind him and rolled him up in a schoolboy for the 1-2-3 victory (8:03).

MATCH #5/THE MAIN EVENT:
"THE TRUE FRANCHISE" Wade Garrett and "THE DOG FACED GREMLIN" Rick Steiner vs. Tony "THE XTINGUISHER" Sweatt and "THE WAR MACHINE" Chad Cheetum.

This match had a lot of funny moments in the beginning, then the action got wild, hot and heavy! From the start,Cheetum and Sweatt got the upper hand over their opponents, until with a little chicanery doing some dirty and underhanded moves and tactics behind the referee's back, the Steiner/Garrett team took control during most of the match.

With all due respect to "The War Machine" Chad Cheetum,my personal highlight was when Rick Steiner hit him with his clothesline known as "The SteinerLine".I can't begin to tell you the many, numerous countless times when I was watching Rick and his brother Scott wrestling in tag team action on TV literally take off opponent's heads with that move. When you see that move happen,it would make anybody say,um well certain adjectives and things that I will not repeat on here, but you know which ones they are.

Rick Steiner didn't miss a beat nor lost his touch when he connected Chad Cheetum with it.SORRY ABOUT THAT,CHAD!

Then things got a little wild when Chad tagged in "The Xtingusiher".He totally cleaned house with both Steiner and Garrett. Then Garrett took Chad outside the ring and posted him in one of the corner posts that was outside the ring.

Steiner was about to hit Sweatt with a steel chair while Garrett was holding him from behind. But,Chad Chettum came in and gave Garrett a standing drop kick.Sweatt Irish Whipped Steiner across the ropes and finished him off with a powerslam.Sweatt covered Steiner and hooked his leg for the 1-2-3 to conclude a great main event and a very fantastic night of AWF wrestling!

Thanks to Dwaine Henderson and everybody at the Alabama Wrestling Federation for once again putting on a terrific show!

See you at the next one!

Indy Diva profile on DESTINY/AWF show in Semmes,AL

HELLO WEBHEADS!
Before I get started,I told many of you about the situation about my grandmother Thelma. She recently became blind this past Tuesday afternoon. My mom took her over to Biloxi Regional Hospital in Biloxi,MS.She was discharged from there yesterday and is now at Ocean Springs Hospital in Ocean Springs,MS.

Things have gone from bad to worse for Grandma. It is now discovered by the doctors there that not only is she blind, but she may be suffering from Alzheimer's.Pretty much, she's talking to the walls thinking that one of her friends or relatives is in the room with her or about telling somebody to lock up her house in a house that she had lived in for many, many years to which that she doesn't live anymore.

My family came to the decision to have her live in a retirement home.My family and I love Grandma very, very much, but due to the very busy lives that we lead and live,it will be difficult for us to watch her 24/7.Therefore,once we get things settled, that's our decision.I'm certain that she will receive the very best of care.

I want to thank everybody who has kept Grandma,my family and I in their thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time in my family's life.Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.

Now,onto my blog:
As many of you know,I am a diehard wrestling fan that goes to several independent wrestling events all up and down the Gulf Coast area. Not only that, but I am a photographer, ring announcer for XWE (formerly XW-2000),a wrestling sports writer and YAHOO! wrestling group owner.

I own and run 5 wresting related YAHOO! groups and I am affiliated with 2 of them. One of those groups that I am affiliated with is one of the hottest wrestling related YAHOO! groups around called Indy Divas.

Indy Divas,a group owned and run by my very good friend,Spartucus Jones, features and showcases the many beautiful, hardworking and talented female wrestlers,managers/valets and personalities that are involved in several independent wrestling organizations from all across the U.S.A.In a way,I represent 7 of these ladies that are from the Gulf Coast area.

One of the ladies that I am featuring in my blog today is a very good friend of mine from the Alabama Wrestling Federation. She's the very 1st lady that I ever created a YAHOO! group for and she is the 1st lady that I added onto the Indy Divas roster. She is none other than the very lovely, the very beautiful, the one and only "LADY D",DESTINY (pictured below):

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Destiny has worked for several local indy wrestling organizations all over the Gulf Coast area in the last 3 or 4 years including SXW,SEW,XW-2000 and many others.

The first time when I saw Destiny in action was over in Axis,AL when she worked in a local indy fed known as Sun Coast Championship Wrestling back in February of 2003.She was a wrestler,manager/valet and the babyface for SCCW back then and she was involved in a feud with another female wrestler,manager/valet named Dixie (another friend of mine and another lady that I represent at Indy Divas).

They were going at it back and forth for the SCCW Women's Championship back then.Their matches against each other were very competitive.I can't even begin to tell you all the countless times they got themselves involved in catfights!

A year later, the SCCW changed its name to the Alabama Wrestling Federation (AWF Mobile) and Destiny became their champion. She took on all comers, male and female;even back then in SCCW!In the AWF,Destiny managed the likes of Damian LaVaye,Ricky "Rocket" Roberts,Tony "The XTinguisher" Sweatt,Raine Quappone and Juice.

In 2004,Destiny was involved in a feud with the ever so beautiful manager/valet of "The Old School Assassin" John Saxon who goes by the name of Irresistible Danielle (another friend of mine that I represent at Indy Divas!).I never got the chance to see these two go at each other, which is one of the main regrets that I ever have had not going. From what I was told by each of these ladies on separate occasions, they pulled off some amazing moves ansd they were catfighting immensely and often.

At first,Destiny was the babyface during that time.In time, the babyface role gradually turned to the side of Irresistible Danielle and Destiny became the heel/bad girl.Kind of strange how things change in wrestling!

Their feud subsided and Danielle went with John Saxon making a name for herself in several indy feds all over the Gulf Coast and Southeastern United States while the beautiful Destiny was still turning a lot of heads and wreaking havoc in the AWF.She was still with Juice until they went their separate ways.

Destiny was on her own and was making it on her own, almost in the same lines like a Mary Tyler Moore.Destiny's popularity with the fans of the AWF,both male and female fans alike, has soared higher like never before!Today,Destiny is a ring announcer,Vice-President and is the 2-TIME!2-TIME!2-TIME! and current Commissioner of the Alabama Wrestling Federation.

Because of the many, many, mnnay countless photographs that I have taken of Destiny through the years,I decided to create a YAHOO! group for her.On October 22nd of 2005,I did just that.I created her very own YAHOO! group called:
DESTINY'S DOMAIN
http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/DestinysDomain

To date, she has over 200 members in her group worldwide!

In March of this year,Destiny was voted by the thousands of group members at Indy Divas as the March Indy Diva Of The Month. She competed against the likes of Lady Vendetta,Irresisitble Danielle,April Hunter,Dixie,Zip and 19 other indy females on the indy wrestling circuit en route upon winning this very prestigious honor.

I have known Destiny for about 3 and 1/2 years now.In my estimation and in my opinion about Destiny, she has come a very long way in a very short time in the independent wrestling business.I am very proud to know her.I am very happy of what she has achieved in the wrestling business and most importantly,I am very proud to call her my friend and to have her as a friend.

Please keep my grandmother in your thoughts and prayers

Hello everyone!
I apologize to all of you that were expecting to read a post by me yesterday.I was a very busy man yesterday and things at my "web",the household if you will, were very chaotic.

First, inexplicably,I lost my cell phone when I went out to the clubs on Sunday evening.I was absolutely going stir crazy trying to find it inside my house as well as the two cars that I drive regularly on a day-to-day basis.Luckily for me,my cell phone was found when I returned to the club on Monday night and it is now in my posssession.I had to have it turned off when I called my wireless phone company just in case if somebody stole it attempting to make some long distance phone calls and Lord only knows whatever criminal intent that they may have had in mind.I am expected to go to my wireless company today to have it reactivated.

The topic to my blog today is about my grandmother,Thelma Autry. She is the mother to my late father,Carlton;who died back in 1998 at the ago of 60 due to complications of multiple myeloma.

I remember those days when I stayed with her and my late grandfather,Henry at their house when my mother Gladys had to go on numerous boat trips at her job.My mother is a marine biologist and has been for over 30 years. She isn't slowing down and is not expected to retire from her job anytime soon.Anyway, when I stayed spending my days and nights with my grandparents when Mom was away,it was lots and lots of fun;especially with my grandfather on the weekends.Like me,my grandfather was a huge wrestling fan and we watched every single wrestling program that was on:World Class Championship Wrestling,Southeastern/Continental Championship Wrestling,Mid-South and Georgia/World Championship Wrestling.I miss my grandfather and those days that we shared together immensely. My grandmother, like my mother was a wonderful cook and made several terrific meals for Grandpa and myself to enjoy.

My grandmother is around 91 years old. When you reach that age in your life,it is truly a blessing.I am very grateful that the Good Lord has let her live this long. She can be a very nice lady once you get to know her,but at the same time she can be very rude, vile and mean.Maybe it has to due to senility and old age,I suppose. She was staying with my brother,Michael, his wife and my sister-in-law,Brenda and his son,my nephew Chris.Due to seversal arguments and irreconcilable differences,my brother and his family could not stand the type of things that she was doing at their house;being nasty and rude, making his house very dirty and unliveable. Therefore, the decision was made to have my grandmother live with me and my mother.Grandma came to live with us during late spring/early summer and she has been staying with us since then. She has been very forgetful(no personal knock against her) and sometimes Mom and I had to constantly remind her to take her medications,to get up early and not sleep late and not do things that she wasn't supposed to do that would do her, ourselves and our house harm.Almost like telling your 5 year old kid not to touch the stove because it is very hot.Your kid doesn't listen to you and does it anyway, eventually burning themselves badly.I'm sure you can understand and relate to our situation.

When we try to help her in ways that would benefit her,she always copped some bad, nasty attitude, talking very sassy as if she wanted to be left alone;not wanting to be bothered by anybody when we absoultely did nothing wrong to her except trying to help her. When you act as stubborn like she was, sometimes it's best to leave well enough alone.Don't get me wrong,I love my grandmother, but some days it was nearly impossible to be around her and have even remotely a friendly conversation with her.Pretty much on a daily basis,I went on about my business,my Mom went on about hers and so did my grandmother.

Yesterday,I was very concerned about my grandmother. It was around 3:00 PM in the afternoon. She goes to bed around 8 PM-8:30 PM at night. When I went to check on her,her door was locked and I knocked on her door to see if she was all right. She told me that she was, hwne in reality she really wasn't.She said that she couldn't see the door to her room.My grandmother is blind in one of her eyes and really that was due to her not going to see her eye doctor.I'll tell you all some very good and strong advice about that later. She told me that she was on the ground.I believe that she had collapsed to the floor. This is a situation my Mom and I had told her about many, many times;the risks to what happens to her when she sleeps really late.I told her to crawl to the door and to unlock it just for me to see if she was O.K. She crawled to the door and she unlocked it.When I unlocked the door,I saw her exactly as I had just described,on the floor as if she had collapsed.According to my calculations, she slept for nearly 19 hours. She told me that she couldn't see.I helped her up and guided her to the bathroom. She grabbed me by my left arm and I helped her to the bathroom for her to get situated. After when she used it,I helped her to her favorite chair in the living room.I gave her a banana just for her to get her blood sugar level back up.She doesn't have diabetes, but take it from one who used to have that disease and understood its complications, giving her a banana to eat was very helpful.

I called my Mom and told her about Grandma's situation. She immediately came home from work. She came home and Grandma told her what happened to her.Mom helped her to her room to get dressed and took Grandma to the hospital.A few hours later,Mom called me and told me about Grandma's condition. From what the doctors and nurses told her,Grandma suffered a stroke to her eye or something of that nature and the early prognosis is that Grandma may be totally blind.A blood clot formed near the back of her eye.A neurologist and other eye specialists are going to see Grandma today to see what the deal is.Although I am hoping and praying that my grandmother isn't blind, but that just could very well might be the case.

Like I stated earlier,my grandmother went for months on end not going to see her eye doctor, which probably led to her blindness in one eye. When she did got to see her eye doctor, the eye doctor gave her some eye drops to use on her good eye to save the vision on that eye.I really couldn't tell you if my grandmother used her eye drops like she was supposed on a day-to-day basis, but my gut feeling is that she didn't.

There was a time in my life when I was a diabetic that I took everything in my life for granted;acting like nothing could ever happen to me and that everything is O.K.I,like my grandmother, neglected to get regular eye check-ups and sooner or later,it caught up with me.It was discovered I got diabetic retinopathy.

Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease where blood vessels and arteries in the retina become weakened and form small,dot-like hemmorages;which leads to swelling or edema in the retina and decreased vision.Circulation problems cause area of the retina to be oxygen deprived causing the eye to have spots or floaters;rainbow-like rings. If you saw a street light lamp being lit at night, that's what I basically saw;those rainbow-like rings.Later phases of diabetic retinopathy could mean continued abnormal vessel growth and scar tissue causes retinal detachment and glaucoma.

During this stage in my life back then,my blood sugar levels,my diabetes,my blood pressure and my health were going out of control. My body and my eyes paid a heavy price.Soon,my vision got bad and my kidneys failed me.These are the some of the risks of diabetes, kidney failure and blindness.I went to my eye doctor and he told me that I had diabetic retinopathy.I had to have two laser eye surgeries to seal those leaky blood vessels in my eye and prevent new ones from forming.

Two years ago because of my kidney failure,I had to go on dialysis about 3 days a week.I was on a list to receive a kidney transplant.About a year and a half ago,I received not only a kidney transplant, but a pancreaas transplant too. Thanks to my new pancreas,I do not have diabetes anymore. No more taking any insulin shots twice a day,no more worrying about going into insulin shock and slipping unconscious into a comatose state.None of that any more!I am very and truly blessed for what I have.

I have been taking very, very good care of myself since my double transplant suregery.I have been taking my anti-rejection medications when I am supposed to and I visit my kidney doctor and my eye doctor on a regular basis. My constant visits to my eye doctor have been nothing short of extraordinary!Even though I still have complications of diabetic retinopathy,to this point I have had no complications of my eye disease and my vision is vastly improving.

If I can give any advice to anybody out there,it is this:
If you have a doctor,a foot doctor,an eye doctor or even a back doctor for that matter,go see them regularly!Don't think for one minute that you're feeling fine, that evrything about you is O.K. and that you feel you really don't need to see your doctor, you do!Go see your doctor, get your regular check-ups and do exactly what your doctor tells you to do.Your health is very important to you and DO NOT EVER take that ot take anything in life for granted.

Also,if you would sometime today,PLEASE say a prayer for my grandmother Thelma, for me and for my family as well!

THANK YOU!

Results from the July 15th AWF Chipley show

I want to thank Buttonman for inviting me to his house yesterday and helping me get started on my blog.I also want to thank him for taking me to the AWF show in Chipley and back safe and sound.
The show took place at the non air-conditioned T.J. Roulhac Center rather than the very cool, very comfortable air conditioned bulding. But,despite the unbearable, adverse and sauna-like conditions, the wrestling action was just as hot!

Here are the results from the show:
MATCH #1:
Backdraft defeated David Prime.Prime brought in a steel chair to hit Backdraft, but BackDraft ducked,Prime missed the chair shot and instead Prime's chair hit the ring ropes and the chair ricocheted back to Prime's head knocking him unconscious. It was a simple cover and a very easy victory for Backdraft. After the match, they played "The Star Spangled Banner",our country's national anthem as Backdraft holding Old Glory high stood over the fallen and unconscious David Prime as the song was playing.

MATCH #2/Match for the vacant Southern States Heavyweight Championship: GhostFace (managed by Eddie G.) defeated Chaz as GhostFace, who was unmasked at match's end to be revealed to the AWF Chipley crowd as "The Big Deal" Ryan Holland won the match with a reverse DDT.

MATCH #3:
"THE SYMBOL OF VIOLENCE" Jon Ryker and Johnny 8-Ball defeated "Grease Monkey",excuse me, JunkYard Joe and Shane Youngblood managed by Eddie G.
Ryker reversed an Irish Whip by Shane Youngblood and Eddie G.,who at that time had his back turned and thinking that he was tripping up Jon Ryker, instead tripped up Shane Youngblood as he went down face first knocking him out cold.Ryker covered Youngblood and hooked his leg for the 1-2-3.

MATCH #4:
Two members of THE CANADIAN CARTEL,Mr. Fantasy and Chris Tighe(with David Prime and Sexy Samantha) defeated the team of Andrew Anderson and Dixie Dynamite.

Before the match started,"The Sexy One" sang a rendition of "O
Canada",the Canadian national anthem despite the constant barrage of
very loud and boisterous boos from the Chipley,FL crowd.

Not too terribly long ago,Mr. Fantasy made a very pitiful, horrible, pathetic attempt
to sing the Canadian national anthem. His cattle walling nearly broke every window in the T.J. Roulhac Center.Good Lord!Where were my freakin' earplugs when I needed them.Believe me,his attempt was bad.....VERY,VERY BAD!Needless to say,Sexy Samantha's rendition fared no better.I tell you,if these two ever attempted to
sing either on American Idol or on It's ShowTime at The Apollo, both of them would have been ceremoniously booed off the stage.Even that clown that appears in the Apollo would have given both of them the hook, trust me!

This was a very good match-up between these two teams. As the match started,at first it seemed that the team of Dynamite and Anderson seemed to had the upper hand in this match leaving the Canadian Cartel discombobulated in the early going. But,it was soon to be short lived as Fantasy and Tighe took control of this match and
man,did they ever take control!Even David Prime and The Sexy One got
involved in this match-up when the referee's back was turned.Prime
choked put Anderson on the bottom ring apron and soon after Sexy
Samantha slapped the taste out of his mouth with a hard, vicious slap
to his face.

Near the end of the match, the momentum all of a sudden shifted to the
Dynamite/Anderson team. But strength in numbers and simply just too
much Canadian Cartel to go around.Tighe and Fantasy threw out Andrew
Anderson in the waiting hands of David Prime as he bagan to pummel
him unmercilessly outside the ring. Then they did the same to Dixie
Dynamite.

Mr. Fantasy finished off Dixie Dymanite in a very dominating
and very unique fashion.Mr. Fantasy picked up Dixie Dynamite into a Northern Lights suplex position,a Scott Hall's Razor's Edge if you will, released him and caught him in a devastating Diamond Cutter! In the immortal words of the late, great ring commentator Gordon Solie "WOOWWWW!" or in this case as Gordon would have said when Dixie Dynamite got laid out "OOOOO!".This particular move Mr. Fantasy called "Final Fantasy".

Then Fantasy tagged Chris Tighe.Tighe climbed on the top rope and came off it with a flying swanton down on Dixie Dynamite.Tighe covered and hooked his leg for the 1-2-3 victory. Then the onslaught by the Canadian Cartel began.Chris Tighe went outside, grabbed a chair and hit andrew Anderson with a steel chair.Inside the ring, the Canadian Cartel got their Canadian Maple Leaf flag and parted Dixie Dynamite's head like the Red Sea as his face and head was a crimson mask after taking a shot to the head by the Canadian Cartel and their Canadian flag.

MATCH #5:
T-Bolt (with Selina) defeated "Gorgeous" Glenn Cortez (with Eddie G.).T-Bolt dropped Cortez's head like a bad habit with a brainbuster.T-Bolt covered Cortez and hooked his leg for the 1-2-3.

T-Bolt won the battle, but not the war as all the men of Eddie G.'s Stable (JunkYard Joe,Shane Youngblood and "The Big Deal" Ryan Holland) ran in and ambushed T-Bolt.AWF Champion Dan Delicious ran in to help T-Bolt,but there was one too many members in the Eddie G. Stable to overcome and they all attacked and pummeled Dan Delicious as well. The men of Eddie G.'s Stable threw T-Bolt over the top rope and onto to arena floor as well as Dan Delicious, not to mention their so-called on the take, hip pocketed referee that was donning a white,Mil Mascaras type mask.

MATCH #6/MAIN EVENT:
Dorrian defeated AWF Heavyweight Champion Dan Delicious in a non-title match. The referee was knocked out near the end of the match.David Prime ran in to ambush Dan Delicious. Then T-Bolt ran in to help Dan Delicious by attempting to take out David Prime. But,Prime reaching into this tights, pulled out some powder and threw it into T-Bolt's eyes thus blinding him.Dan Delicious came to T-Bolt in an attempt to help him,but T-Bolt,who was still blinded, grabbed Dan Delicious and hit him with a powerbomb.Dorrian threw out T-Bolt and covered the unconscious AWF Champion for the cheap 1-2-3 victory.

Following the match, the AWF Champion went outside the ring to help out T-Bolt to see if he was O.K.It turned out that T-Bolt was O.K. and the two embraced each other.

Next show is Saturday,August 12th at HOPEFULLY in the air conditioned building next door to the T.J. Roulhac Center.Belltime is 8:00 PM. BE THERE!!!

Another day, another 200 miles

Today I am scheduled to be at AWF Chipley. Before that I have stopped at Buttonman's house to get tutored and be brought up to speed on how to make a blog (this blog).

Later I will report on all the matches and other activities of the night and maybe upload some pictures.

By way of commentary, I believe that the Canadian Cartel (above left) will win the AWF Tag Team Tournament. How can I be this bold? Because nobody cheats as well as these North of the border bozos who wave the Canadian flag around like it was a diva's underwear. Yes, these are the very same kanucks eh, who interrupt the USA National Anthem to play and sing (badly) Oh Canada!, like one had to go to the bathroom and the other was compelled to hold his hand while he went.

Hopefully, they will lose. Realistically, they will not. They will check their manners at the door and stick "it" to the AWF Fans. These Molson Beer loving mopes will not stop until they dominate AWF Chipley. Just once I would like us all to stand and in a loud unified voice sing "NO CANADA!"

More on that later.

GSW Sunday 9th

MATCH #1:

"MR. ELECTRICITY" Jerry Reiner (right seen against Mercury McLoud) defeated Damian LaVaye.Reiner defeated LaVaye with his finishing move called "Shock Therapy".

MATCH #2:

In a tag team match,Mercury McCloud and Tony "THE XTINGUISHER"
Sweatt defeated Joe Kane and Matt Gordy

MATCH #3/SIX MAN TAG TEAM MATCH:

The Armstrongs,"BULLET"Bob,"SUPERKICK" Scott and TNA superstar,"THE ROAD DOGG"B.G. James defeated "MARVELOUS"Marcel Pringle and "THE DOG RIVER BOYZ"(Aeon Flexx and Ricky "ROCKET" Roberts).

This was a wild, back and forth 6 man
tag team match. Then again, when haven't 6 man tag matches not been wild?I totally got a kick out Marcel and his men's theme music set to the TV theme from the classic hit TV show drama DALLAS.All 3 of those guys would make even the diabolical, double crossing,two-timing character on that show,J.R. Ewing look like a patron saint!

Marcel held The Bullet's arms from behind as "The Rocket" climbed on the top rope to attempt to hit The Bullet with a missile, excuse me,rocket drop kick, however "The Bullet" moved out of the way and "The Rocket"'s drop kick connected on Marcel instead."The Bullet" covered Marcel for the 1-2-3 victory.Since Marcel was the loser of teh fall for his team, the stipuation was that he had to ride the mecahanical bull that was in the back left hand corner of the building. That was a total hoot and for everybody to see Marcel attempt to ride that bull!I never laughed so hard in my life!

MATCH #4:

The Mountain Man defeated Ryan Fury and Jester McKain in a 2-on-1 handicap match. After Mountain Man won the fall,Minotaur ran in and attacked the Mountain Man from behind. However, his onslaught would be short-lived as Mountain Man battled back and retaliated and then Minotaur ran out of the ring as fast as two feet could carry him.

MATCH #5:

The masked wrestler known as "The Professional" defeated "THE OLD SCHOOL ASSASSIN" John Saxon (with his ever so beautfiul manager/valet at his side,Irresistible Danielle ) by disqualification.

At first, this was a classic, back and forth encounter between these two outstanding competitors. Then during the match things got a little interesting as The Professional took unnecessary shortcuts on Saxon with the referee not seeing any of this chicanery taking place such as hair pulling, eye gouging, eye raking, low blows, etc.

Whenever Saxon attempted to retaliate to avenge The Professional's wrongdoings, either The Professional got to the ring ropes especially when Saxon tried to pin him or the referee would stop Saxon from doing anything.

All this anger within John Saxon kept boiling and boiling until finally he erupted like a volcano and started going ballistic knocking out the referee, beating up on The Professional, knockig out and stomping Percy Pringle III and even nearly everybody in GSW security.I can understand Saxon's anger for what The Professional did to him during that match to make him mad,but did Saxon go over the edge beating up on referees, security and PP3?I'll leave that answer for all of you to decide.

I absolutely couldn't believe the way Saxon was shouting at Danielle. This reminded me about 21 years ago when I was a teenager watching various WWF programs on TV the way when "Macho Man" Randy Savage acted and treated his manager Elizabeth (GOD REST HER SOUL!).This even carried all the way back to a very dark room next to the locker room where Saxon continued his shouting and verbal barrage to Danielle.I really couldn't hear all what was being said, but he did tell her to do what he said and do whatever he told her to do.I felt really, really sorry for Danielle being treated the way Saxon treated her.She really DID NOT deserve this kind of treatment at all!To me,it was very heartbreaking and very sickening seeing and hearing all of this unfold.

During his verbal tirade following the match,Saxon got on the microphone and is putting up $1,000 of his own money to ANY WRESTLER in Florida,Alabama,Mississippi,New York or wherever who thinks that can defeat him.Saxon said he'll make anybody tap out.Pringle responded to Saxon saying at the next GSW show,he said that he'll get anybody and whoever he wants to take up on John Saxon's challenge.I heard some rumours as to whom that opponent for Saxon might actually be wrestling next month.I know that one of those wrestlers mentioned will definitely give "The Old School Assassin" all that he could ever handle!

MATCH #6/MAIN EVENT FOR THE WHISKEY CHAMPIONSHIP:

The Whiskey Champion Kornbred defeated "THE OLD SCHOOL ASSASSIN" John Saxon by disqualification.

As I saw this match unfolding,I cannot believe that whatever John Saxon told or said to Irresistible Danielle before the match started back at the locker room,it must have worked.Almost like as if she was programmed like a robot that was created by some mad, evil scientist or for that matter, her being brainwashed.

During several occasions during the match,Danielle got on the ring apron to distract the referee while Saxon did any and every unnecessary tactic to gain any undue advantage on Kornbred. One time she even tried to trip up Kornbred as he was coming off the ring ropes after being Irish Whipped by John Saxon.

Once the decision to the match was rendered and was made public to the fans of GSW through the public address system,as if John Saxon wasn't already mad before after the semi main event,he went absolutely livid as the announcement was made of him losing the match by disqualification turning the timekeeper's table upside down and just about everything else in the building that wasn't nailed down.

***

I can't wait until Sunday,August 20th for the one year anniverary GSW show at The Whiskey! There will definitely be some very big surprises in store for everybody, fans and wrestlers alike.
